Headline points coming out of the monthly WTC meeting, held on Monday evening:

There is the possibility of a tenant moving into the Quayside Cafe at the Hythe, to continue offering a public cafe service.

The Knowledge Gateway re-submitted planning application for the student accommodation is expected to go through with two disabled parking bays added.

Cllr Manning has called in the University's car park planning app.

The new health centre could be complete within three years.

£2,000 is being lent by WTC to the Diamond Jubilee Group to help with costs upfront. This money is expected to be recovered during Jubilee week.

A grant of £3,500 has been received for a refurbishment of the gents at the Loveless Hall [where else?]

The Loveless Hall Working Party are going to consider the points made on the fourm about the deposit system.

The cheque has cleared over the purchase of the police houses.

I don't mean to be meanspirited about the refurbishment of the gents at the Loveless Hall but I think that they are more than adequate. I visit the building (helping the splendid Lyn Pendle with junior badminton etc..) and I can't really see what needs to be changed.  Couldn't we spend the not inconsiderate amount on something else?  Just a thought.

    Uh-oh.

The bunting story that was also mentioned on Monday has now gone national.

Jason is it possible with the software behind this forum to set links on to open in a new tab or window? It would keep people on this website when they click on a link as well as stopping the issue of finding your way back again if you then navigate the site the link takes you to.

Right clicking on a link allows you to open it in a new tab - or does that only work in Firefox?

I am aware of that Marika and try to remember to do that. But I often forget. It would be so much easier if the links opened a new tab or window when linking to another site rather than taking you out of the Wivenhoe Forum.

Not a gripe just a suggested improvement.
