Brief bump for the TTW Barn Dance (oh yes...) with some added details:

"Do you love a good barn dance? Then please come to our event on 17th September!

Let me know if you want tickets in advance - only £5 - from me or Wivenhoe Bookshop.

Music from the wonderful Hosepipe Band with Wivenhoe's own Nick Sadler + caller Steve Wiles.

The bar will be stocked with locally made ale, organic European wine and organic cola, as well as lager and other soft drinks.  Seasonal nibbles will be available too."

Cheers Grim, and thanks to you and all the helpers on and before the night. The hall  looked great thanks to an army of volunteers hanging bunting and greenery and preparing tables and flowers, and the bar ran smoothly. A great success we thought, and good to see as many people dancing the first dance as the last to the wonderful Hopepipe Band.

The local ale from Sticklegs in Elmstead Market and lager from Calvors in Ipswich went down very well, as did the Wivenhoe Martini which was made using apples, pears and berries that were collected round the village on friday and then pressed using the TTW owned juicing machine. There were also great locally sourced snacks on offer, from a Wivenhoe gingerbread teapot to courgette cake!
